How is Therapy conducted?

Therapy at New Waters Wellness is currently conducted primarily through telehealth platforms.

These are client-driven sessions where the therapist acts as a passenger helping to facilitate the most successful route to the client’s chosen destinations.

Interventions and recommendations might be provided between sessions in order to support the mental health groundwork that is laid out in each session.

How long are the sessions?

The intake session (the initial session) can take upwards of 60-90 minutes. Thereafter, sessions can be scheduled anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Please reach out via email or phone to schedule a session. Currently, weekends are not available.

How much is therapy? Do you accept insurance?

New Waters Wellness accepts the following insurances:

  • Caresource Marketplace
  • Cigna
  • Medical Mutual
  • Ohio Medicaid
    • Caresource
    • Blue Cross Blue Shield

Do you prescribe medication?

Unfortunately, New Waters Wellness does not prescribe medications.  Please consult a psychiatrist or your primary care physician.

How will I know if therapy is working?

When you first start therapy it may feel worse before it gets better. Remember, you are now choosing to challenge typical thoughts and responses and often this is an uncomfortable experience. Acknowledging hurt also puts it in the forefront of our minds and this is also uncomfortable

Over time as successful treatment progresses the same triggers will not affect you in the same way and you will build effective patterns for the behaviors you desire to change.
